We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking do not take place in our operations or supply chains.

This policy is in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reinforces our commitments outlined in our Supply Chain Code of Conduct and Inclusivity Policy.

Our Business and Supply Chain

The Nursery & School Renovation Company is a renovation company delivering sustainable construction, design, and refurbishment services. We work with:
• Local tradespeople and subcontractors
• UK-based and international suppliers of sustainable construction materials and furnishings
• Logistics and waste management partners

We prioritise local sourcing, and expect all partners to comply with our Supply Chain Code of Conduct, which explicitly prohibits modern slavery and unethical labour practices.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management:
• Ensure this policy is upheld across the company and regularly reviewed
• Monitor supplier compliance and risk levels
• Act immediately on concerns or violations

Employees & Subcontractors:

• Report any suspected breaches confidentially
• Participate in awareness and training sessions
• Avoid any engagement with unethical labour sources

Supplier Expectations

All suppliers and subcontractors must:
• Comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
• Agree to and uphold our Supply Chain Code of Conduct, particularly sections on Labour & Human Rights
• Demonstrate transparency in their own supply chains
• Implement controls to prevent exploitation of vulnerable workers
• Be subject to audits, site visits, and documentation requests if concerns arise

Failure to comply may result in immediate termination of contracts.

Due Diligence & Risk Management

We implement the following measures:
• Vetting of new suppliers through sustainability and ethical sourcing criteria
• Priority given to local, traceable, and transparent suppliers
• Supplier risk assessments during onboarding and annually thereafter
• Public commitment to ethical procurement in tender documents

Training & Awareness

We provide training to staff and site managers on:
• Recognising signs of modern slavery
• Whistleblowing procedures
• Responsible procurement practices
