The Nursery & School Renovation Company was commissioned by Hillingdon Council to revitalise the well-loved Barra Park, transforming its existing outdoor space into a dynamic, visually striking, and highly engaging play environment for children of all ages. The objective was clear: create a space that was not only fun, challenging, and inclusive, but one that would also become a standout feature of the local community.
Our team approached the project with a strong focus on creativity, safety, and durability. The redesigned play area features an exciting collection of large, colourful climbing structures that immediately draw the eye and invite exploration. These bespoke elements include a mix of rope features, spinning logs, step logs, and multi-level challenges that encourage balance, coordination, and imaginative play.
To further enhance the environment, we incorporated vibrant thermoplastic ground graphics that add both visual interest and functional play value. These designs help shape the flow of the space and provide additional interactive elements for children to enjoy. The entire area is complemented by high-quality wet pour safety surfacing, chosen not only for its protective properties but also for its ability to unify the colour palette of the equipment and create a cohesive, engaging aesthetic.
Thoughtfully placed seating areas complete the space, offering comfortable spots for parents, carers, and families to relax while children play safely and confidently.
The result is a transformed public play area that is colourful, stimulating, and built to last—an exciting addition to Barra Park that supports active play and community enjoyment for years to come.
